Ross Orton and Pipes have stepped in to remix Toddla T's recent single 'I'm Alive'.
It's summer. Sun is pouring in through the windows of the Clash music office, and - if we're honest - everyone would sooner be in the park.
Thankfully, Toddla T has come to our rescue. The Sheffield producer's chopped up take on Dancehall has always curried our favour, and the 'Agitated' remix project has been a continual fixture on the office stereo.
Sheffield cohorts Ross Orton and Pipes have stepped in to tackle some of the beatsmith's best known cuts, turning the original productions on their head to craft 'Watch Me Dance - Agitated'. Now the pair have focussed their sights on Toddla T's new single, the Shola Ama bolstered strut of 'I'm Alive'.
Drawing out the soulful textures of the original, Ross Orton and Pipes add an up front dancefloor touch which nods towards a mis-spent youth in the soundsystems.
It's pretty banging, and has definitely done its part in taking our minds of the scorching sunshine outside. Grab it HERE.
'Watch Me Dance - Agitated' is out on Monday (August 13th).
Toddla T is set to travel down to Bestival at the beginning of next month to take part in a special RizLab event. Ninja Tune and Big Dada are to curate Saturday and Sunday respectively, with both labels inviting along a few big hitters from their roster.
