Thom Yorke Works With Flea
New band unveiled
Bizarre news is emerging from the Radiohead camp with Thom Yorke revealing that he is working with Flea.
Thom Yorke has re-discovered his love of performing solo. Although 2006 album 'The Eraser' was released to enormous acclaim the singer rarely appeared in concert, preferring to let the album do the talking.
However recently the Radiohead singer appeared at Latitude festival, stunning fans with a spectacular performance. Thom Yorke ran through some classic Radiohead material alongside songs from his slender solo catalogue.
Shortly afterwards Yorke announced details of a new 12 inch solo single. Kept to a limited edition this very special release is set to contain guest appearances from fellow members of Radiohead.
In a new blog posting Thom Yorke has revealed a little about his forthcoming plans. The Radiohead singer unveiled a new group featuring long time producer and studio cohort Nigel Godrich and... Flea?
"in the past couple of weeks i've been getting a band together for fun to play the eraser stuff live and the new songs etc.. to see if it could work!"
The full line up is: "me, joey waronker, mauro refosco, flea and nigel godrich."
"at the beginning of october the 4th and 5th we are going to do a couple of shows at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles. we don't really have a name and the set will not be very long cuz ..well ...we haven't got that much material yet!"
"but come and check it out if you are in the area. we've also got locals Lucky Dragons playing."
Thom Yorke is set to play the following dates:
