Thom Yorke Solo Release - Reports

New 12 inch mooted from Radiohead singer

Fans of Radiohead have been left stunned by the news that singer Thom Yorke could be set to release a new 12 inch.

Thom Yorke's solo career is oddly brief given his standing as a songwriter. The singer has led Radiohead through multiple career changes, from a shambling Oxford group to world beating monsters.

The band last released an album in 2007 with the industry busting 'In Rainbows'. However since then Thom Yorke seems to be drawn to solo releases. Yorke's sole album under his own name was 'Eraser' released back in 2006.

But to celebrate Barack Obama's election victory Thom Yorke released a remix of a previously released solo track as a free download. Since then, a flood of Radiohead material has illuminated the secretive band.

Radiohead have released two new songs as downloads recently, with Thom Yorke himself contributing a cover to Mark Mulcahy's recent tribute album.

The new announcement was made via American entertainment magazine Exclaim! and has caused considerable excitement amongst fans. According to reports Thom Yorke is set to release a strictly limited edition 12 inch featuring two new tracks.

Titled 'Apart by Horses' and 'The Hollow Earth' the 12 inch is apparently due to be released on September 22nd via TBD. According to Exclaim! the release will be kept to just 8000 copies available worldwide.

Of course, Radiohead are cresting a wave of adulation right now following their stunning performances at Reading and Leeds. Introducing a brand new, never before heard track Radiohead also reached back into their back catalogue.

Thom Yorke's rumoured new 12 inch is apparently set to be released on September 22nd.
