Theoretical Girl London Date

Chamber pop comes to London

Acclaimed orchestral indie songwriter Theoretical Girl is set to hit London on Friday (September 11th) for the next Twee As F*ck night.

As the Simpsons once observed, in theory communism works. History is littered with theories that burst into flames once they are exposed to the cruel light of day, with Lenin & Co. just another in a lineage of daft ideas.

Chamber pop is another great theory. Blending orchestral arrangements with 60s pop, groups such as The Zombies and The Left Banke specialised in turned the harpsichord into a mainstream instrument.

However since the few have tried to merge classical and pop. Hailing from Southend On Sea Theoretical Girl aims to redress the balance, with a series of releases outlining her chamber pop vision.

Early singles such as 'It's All Too Much' turned Theoretical Girl into a cult favourite, releasing material through labels such as Half Machine. Eventually snapped up by Memphis Industries the songwriter began working on her debut album.

Released earlier this year 'Divided' is Theoretical Girl's fullest document to date. Click HERE for our opinion!

Theoretical Girl is set to headline this Friday's (September 11th) Twee As F*ck night. Taking over London's Buffalo Bar the club will also boast appearances from Auckland singer Connan Mockasin and the quite bizarrely named Moofish Catfish.

Part of an ongoing UK tour, Theoretical Girl will play the following date:
