The BBC Philharmonic Orchestra have confirmed a number of summer concerts, featuring a series of guest collaborators. Yesterday (August 16th) Richard Hawley confirmed his involvement, and now it seems that The xx are to contribute.

The BBC report that the London outfit are set to collaborate with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra for a one off show, re-working material from both their debut album and upcoming release 'Coexist'.

Composer Alex Baranowski is to work with the band, following previous credits including Danny Boyle's production of 'Frankenstein'. The resulting concert will be free, and takes place at Bridlington in East Yorkshire as part of the BBC Philharmonic Presents... series.
