The Factory unveils new acts

Much talked about new Manchester club FAC 251 - The Factory has confirmed a new show by The Whip.

Housed in the former offices of Factory Records, FAC 251 is a stunning new venue for Manchester. With the design being supplied by original Hacienda designer Ben Kelly the building references the past while looking to the future.

With former New Order bass player Peter Hook set to launch the venue on Friday (February 5th) The Factory has confirmed a host of stunning new shows.

London based newcomers White Lies are to play the venue on February 13th, which will be unlucky for some with tickets selling out within hours. Also confirmed are Oldham indie rockers Twisted Wheel, while the venue is also set to showcase unsigned talents with special shows each Thursday.

Now FAC 251 - The Factory has captured a special show from Manchester dance rockers The Whip. Releasing their debut album in 2008 the band's electro-rock thrills saw them become darlings of the dance world.

Festival favourites, The Whip are currently working on their follow up album. However in a rare move the band are to take time out to become only the second group to play FAC 251 - The Factory.

Due to play the Funktion One room the band will be supported by Lonelady and MAY68. “It's a total honour for The Whip to be asked to play the opening weekend of FAC251, with its links to great Manchester club culture" the band said. "We're breaking off the recording of our second album to do it. We love it!"

The Whip are to play the following dates:
