The View For Football Tournament

Babyshambles, Hoosiers to play

A host of indie stars are set to gather for this year’s instalment of the Celebrity Soccer Six tournament.

Taking place at Chelsea’s superb Stamford Bridge stadium the tournament brings together some top names from the music world to aid charity. A limited number of tickets are available to the public, with all money raised from the competition given to The Samaritans.

This year’s competition is set to contain some star names. The View are renowned football fans, with the band’s loyalties being split between Dundee FC, Dundee United and Celtic. Confused young lads, it seems, but the band will be strutting their stuff on the hallowed turf of Stamford Bridge.

The View were in trouble recently after excess drinking led to a performance at the Snowbombing Festival being abandoned. Lead singer Kyle Falconer collapsed on stage, and the band left after playing for little more than fifteen minutes to a chorus of boos from the fans.

On a more football related tip, The View once appeared on Soccer AM while drunk. Will they be sober on the pitch? Time will tell.

Joining the Scottish pop scamps will be indie giants Babyshambles. The group are led by Pete Doherty, a renowned fan of Queens Park Rangers. Also due to play are The Hoosiers, former A1 member Ben Adams, ‘The X Factor’s Austin Drage and NDUBZ.

As ever, players who once strutted their stuff with Chelsea will join in on the fun.

Previous Celebrity Soccer Six champions and runners- up include Babyshambles, Kasabian, Robbie Williams, Rod Stewart, Oasis, Blur, Westlife, McFly, Blue and The Darkness.

Celebrity Soccer Six takes place at Stamford Bridge, London on May 24th.
