The Verve

Comeback kings The Verve have revealed that their first album since 1997's "Urban Hymns" is to be called "Four" and will be released on August 18th.

Since their acrimonious split, many had predicted the group would never work together again - however, onlookers were surprised when the news broke last year that the band had indeed been rehearsing together. The first song to be released from the record is the track "Love Is Noise", which received its world premiere on the Zane Lowe show last night (June 23rd).

This latest announcement comes that week before the band are scheduled to headline the Glastonbury Festival. Set to close the festival on the Sunday night, the performance will no doubt be a special moment for the band - it was an incendiary performance at the same festival in 1993 that cemented the band in the public's consciousness. Other headliners at this year's Glastonbury event include Jay-Z and Kings Of Leon.

"Four", the new album by The Verve, is set to be released on August 18th in the UK.
