The Twilight Sad are set to re-visit their acclaimed debut album 'Fourteen Autumns & Fifteen Winters'.
Sometimes you have to look backwards before you can move forwards. The Twilight Sad have had a quiet year, but the Glasgow based outfit recently confirmed their intentions to re-visit their debut album.
Initially released in 2007, 'Fourteen Autumns & Fifteen Winters' was an intense mixture of shoegaze, industrial noise and folk textures. A remarkably assured debut, it marked The Twilight Sad out as one of the country's most potent songwriting units.
Realising that the vinyl edition of 'Fourteen Autumns...' was out of print, the band decided to do something about it. A re-issue is in the works, while The Twilight Sad also intend to go back out on the road.
"We were recently asked to perform 'Fourteen Autumns & Fifteen Winters' in Glasgow and after agreeing to do so we realized that it hasn't been available to buy on Vinyl for 3 or 4 years" wrote frontman James Graham. "We also realized that we had lots of demos and music that we wanted people to hear. So after talking with FatCat Records we decided that it would be a good idea to reissue 'Fourteen Autumns & Fifteen Winters' along with all the bonus material we had from that time."
"We’re very proud of our debut album. I've said this many times before but you only get one chance at making your 1st Album and whilst ours didn't set the world on fire or sell hundreds of thousands of copies, I think it’s a special record that means a lot to the people who have discovered it."
The Twilight Sad will play the following shows:
29 Leeds Brudenell Social Club
30 London Hoxton Bar and Grill
1 London Hoxton Bar and Grill
2 Manchester Deaf Institute
3 Bristol Exchange
