The Rapture have unveiled the evocative artwork for new album 'In The Grace Of Your Love'.
In times gone by, album artwork has an importance almost independent of the music. When physical products really mattered, the announcement of artwork would give an indication of the aesthetic an artist would be following.
With the mp3 revolution in full swing, packaging is becoming less and less important. However an eye catching cover can still generation discussion, and The Rapture's new artwork is a case in point.
'In The Grace Of Your Love' is the band's first album since 2006, and comes decked in an evocative photo. A black and white shot of frontman Luke Jenner's father surfing it's a classy return from the New York based outfit.
Once again signed to DFA, work began on the new album last year. The trimmed down three piece began working new material, with The Rapture set to release 'In The Grace Of Your Love' on September 5th.
Working with French producer Phillipe Zdar, the album was recorded at Motorbass, Paris and Gary's Electric in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
To preview the new material, The Rapture have confirmed plans for a full European tour. Taking them across the continent, the punk-funk dons are due to play a handful of British shows.
Tickets are on sale now, with shows confirmed in Manchester and London for September 7th and 8th respectively.
