The Proclaimers Party At T In The Park

Eminem rumours mount...

Scottish institution The Proclaimers have played a storming set on the second day of T In The Park.

The Proclaimers were once shunned by Scots. The band were down on their luck, before being re-examined by a rejuvenated nation. '500 Miles' has become a sporting favourite, ingrained on the consciousness of millions.

Taking to the Main Stage, the brothers in arms seem completely at home. Breezing through their back catalogue, the band's confident acoustic based songcraft could have been made in any decade.

Proving that there is much more to them than the hits, it is nonetheless the better heard tracks which steal the limelight. 'Sunshine On Leith' is given a somewhat ironic rendition before '500 Miles' has the crowd punching the air en masse.

Sure, it may be somewhat overplayed but in the right circumstances it can still turn 85,000 Scottish punters into sweaty mess.

Elsewhere, the site has been dogged by rumours over Eminem's whereabouts. Organisers DF Concerts issued a statement earlier this week, re-assuring fans that Marshall Mathers would indeed turn up.

However it seems that this hasn't squashed rumours of a no-show. To demonstrate the split personality on show in the crowd, another rumour has emerged of a potential guest appearance with D-12.

So, two shows or none at all. Take your pick!

Set to play the Slam Tent, D-12 are preceded by London producer Four Tet. Honing his live set with a number of appearances recently, the producer leans on the techno driven elements of his back catalogue for a typically mind-expanding experience.

Have your say
