The Kinks Re-Union Draws Closer

Davies brothers are on speaking terms...

One of the most influential bands of their generation, The Kinks' catalogue seems to grow in stature with each passing year.

Sadly, a re-union has – at times – seemed a long way off. Bad blood between brotherly duo singer Ray Davies and guitarist Dave Davies has kept the band from performing live, although this does seem to have dissipated.

Speaking to The Sunday Times, Ray Davies was probed on the prospect of a re-union. "I met Dave only last week to talk about getting back together again," he said. "We’ve also spoken a few times on the phone and emailed. He’s been composing his own songs, but I’d really like to write with him again. We both agree we don’t want to do old stuff or tour with past hits. It’s got to be something new."

The remark sparked a flurry of speculation, prompting Ray Davies to state on Facebook: "I met and talked with Ray but nothing has been agreed on yet."

Fingers crossed… here's 'This Time Tomorrow'.
