The Killers Close V Festival
Las Vegas group stun Stafford crowd
Las Vegas rockers The Killers have closed this summer's V Festival with a spectacular hit-laden show.
The Killers have become one of the most popular festivals acts in the UK. Recent album 'Day And Age' sent the band into the stratosphere, with lead single 'Human' becoming an enormous chart success.
This year has seen The Killers dominate the festival landscape. The Las Vegas group headlined Scotland's T In The Park, sending the 80,000 plus crowd into raptures with a stunning set.
Taking to the stage at V Festival's Staffordshire site, The Killers were on jubilant form. Lead singer Brandon Flowers wore a sparkling black jacket, with the group delving into their golden run of hits to send the crowd into rapture.
Kicking off with 'Spaceman' the band showed no signs of fatigue, despite having played twin site Chelmsford the night before. Opening with 'Spaceman' The Killers paid tribute to the crowd, with Brandon Flowers asking "is it too early to say you're better than Chelmsford?"
The Las Vegas four piece later sent the huge crowd into a frenzy for festival anthems 'Mr Brightside', 'Somebody Told Me', 'Human' and 'All These Things That I've Done'.
For 'Smile Like You Mean It' The Killers took things down a little, recruiting a violin player while Brandon Flowers sat at the piano. "Thank you so much. You're too good to us," he said, overcome by the crowd's reaction.
Finishing with 'When We Were Young' Flowers told the audience "this is our last show in the UK for a long time. We are going to play this last song as hard as we can. Are you going to receive it as hard as you can? OK boys let's see what this motherfucker can do!"
