The Killers Brandon Flowers Not Going Solo
Singer denies rumours
Las Vegas indie icons The Killers are not set to split, with Brandon Flowers denying rumours he wants to embark on a solo career.
The Killers have risen to become one of the most popular bands in the country. Out-stripping their success in the United States the band can effortlessly fill arenas in Britain, with their albums selling by the bucketload.
Last year the band released 'Day And Age' possibly their most grandiose statement to date. Lead single 'Human' smashed into the charts, with the parent album becoming one of the year's most successful.
However continual tour appeared to have pushed The Killers to their limit. Continual press reports of their demise have focussed on an apparent divide between the party hardy group and their devout Mormon singer.
Brandon Flowers had been rumoured to be planning a solo career, with fans growing anxious at continual speculation. In a new statement The Killers have denied that they are to part ways, with their record label claiming that they have tour commitments for the next few months.
"Brandon (Flowers) is not leaving The Killers to 'go solo'," record label Island claimed in a statement. "The band are on tour in South Africa at the moment, still busy promoting their third album 'Day & Age', and will be touring into spring 2010."
The Killers are still writing and releasing new material. Latest single 'Happy Birthday Guadalupe' is a festive treat, with all profits from the track going towards a charity which battles AIDs around the world.
