Seminal American outfit The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion have signalled their return with a new album.

Full of poise and attitude, wearing a peacock strut like there was no tomorrow The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion designed a virile, stripped down take on blues mythology back when Jack White was in nappies.

Leaving behind them a trail of empty beer bottles, smashed guitars and wonderful records the band recently decided to get back together. The rejuvenated collective have completed work on a new album, with The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion set to release 'Meat And Bone' on September 17th.

Overseen by Jon Spencer, 'Meat And Bone' was recorded at the legendary Key Club Recording Studio in Benton Harbor, MI, and mixed in New York City. Sayeth the man himself: "We still have that psychic glue that allows us to create music together. Over the course of a year touring and writing new songs and recording, we rediscovered our shared history as a band. We circled the wagons, and went back to our roots. In a way this is almost like another first album."
