The Hours For Kasabian Tour
New album from celestial duo
Celebrated indie duo The Hours are set to join up with Kasabian for the Leicester band's ongoing British tour.
The Hours are formed by Britpop alumni Antony Genn and Martin Slattery. Having previously plied their trade with Elastica and Pulp the group have a wealth of experience to draw on, but also a desire to escape their past.
The pair met while working with Joe Strummer's group The Mescaleros and decided that they wanted to try something different. Extensive song writing sessions led to celebrated debut album 'Narcissus Road'.
Snapped up by A&M the group were given free rein in the studio and emerged with something that combined lush production and strong songwriting. Since then The Hours have taken a break, but seem ready to return.
New album 'See The Light' boasts artwork from celebrated British artist Damien Hirst. The artist previously worked with the band in crafting their onstage insignia, and is a long time friend of The Hours.
Already gaining some fine reviews, The Hours are set to take their celestial rock on the road. Expanding to a seven piece band the musicians lock in a rare harmony, crafting a sound that is both vast and intimate.
Kasabian are currently touring the nation after the release of their new album 'West Rider Pauper Asylum'. An ambitious concept album, it blends some of the band's finest songs to date with some admirably daft lyrics.
The band are splitting their time between headline dates and acting as support on the Oasis tour. With some festivals in the offing as well, the Leicester lads will be difficult to ignore.
