The Horrors, The Cribs and more will play hometown shows this year as part of J.D. Roots.

Jack Daniel's are buoyed by a quite unique sense of place. The Tennessee whiskey has staunchly refused to move, with the distillery remaining set in the picturesque Southern town of Lynchburg.

With that in mind, Jack Daniel's recently launched JD Roots. Returning bands to their home towns, the project will continue this summer - and the full line up has now been announced.

Kicking off with a visit to Scotland, Twin Atlantic will be returned to legendary Glasgow venue King Tuts. Taking place on May 3rd, the project continues with appearances from The Horrors (Southend-on-Sea) and The Cribs (Wakefield).

Returning each group to their hometown, the project will result in some rare, intimate shows. The Horrors' Rhys Webb had the following to say: "We plotted our first band practice whilst sharing drinks in the window of Southend On Sea’s Royal Hotel, a grand old building overlooking the longest pleasure pier in the world and home to the infamous Junk Club".

"A couple of months later we played one of our earliest shows in the hotel’s dark basement to a heaving crowd of sweaty freaked out individuals. Now we return to Chinnerys, just a stone’s throw from that hallowed place; to get right back where we started from and celebrate a fantastic few years of causing trouble".

Meanwhile, The Cribs are also looking forward to a trip home with the band commenting: "We haven’t played in Wakefield since 2007 as all the venues seem to have disappeared. We last played at a place called Escobar. There were loads of kids who couldn’t get tickets for the show, so the streets were lined with people watching through the windows. It will be great to finally play here again after 5 years".

JD Roots shows:

May
3 Glasgow King Tuts (Twin Atlantic)
9 Southend Chinnarys (The Horrors)
16 Wakefield Theatre Royal (The Cribs)

Nashville's own The Black Belles will play support at all shows.
