The Cure Fight iTunes

Fans Told Not To Buy From Retailer

The Cure have started a fight with online music provider iTunes, with lead singer Robert Smith writing a blog entry in which he urges fans not to buy from the retailer.

The Cure are gearing up to release new EP "Hypnagogic States" but have been shocked to learn that iTunes are charging fans £7.99 for the EP - which consists of a mere five songs, all of which are remixes.

The band are currently riding the crest of a commercial wave in the US where they recently managed to land four singles in the Billboard Top 20 in one week. Smith has been utterly enraged by the price decision, and in his blog he states "this is absurd", and also quotes an email he sent to his record label where he claims the situation was "totally fucking wrong".

Amongst the remixers on the new EP are My Chemical Romance's Gerard Way and members of Fall Out Boy.

Robert Smith also revealed the potential tracklisting for new album "4:13 Dream", due to be released on October 28th. It should run as follows:

Underneath The Stars
The Only One
The Reasons Why
Freakshow
Sirensong
The Real Snow White
The Hungry Ghost
Switch
The Perfect Boy
This. Here And Now. With You
Sleep When I'm Dead
The Scream
It's Over
