In The City Host Announced
Rolling Stone Legend For Event
This year's host for the massive In The City convention has been revealed as none other than Rolling Stones and Immediate Records legend Andrew Loog Oldham.
A legendary figure in the music industry, Andrew Loog Oldham produced the first two Rolling Stones' records and crafted the group's innovative bad boy image. The man responsible for the slogan "Would you let your daughter go with a Rolling Stone?", he parted ways with the group and founded Immediate Records in 1965. That seminal label produced fantastic albums by the likes of Small Faces, The Nice, PP Arnold, Chris Farlowe and many more before Oldham retired from active management in the aftermath of the label's collapse.
Remaining in the industry, he is a noted figure and is one of the founding father's of modern music management. Secretary of State for Culture, Media And Sport MP Andrew Burnham and bosses from Green Man Festival and Virgin Records US will also be at the convention.
Topics for discussion will include the future of festivals, buying music online and the state of music broadcasting.
In The City takes place in Manchester between October 5th and 7th.
