Disco-house producer Tensnake has revealed that he has been working with Chic legend Nile Rodgers.
The artistic re-invigoration of Nile Rodgers has been a joy to behold. With the Chic guitarist's clipped chords sitting underneath Daft Punk's international hit 'Get Lucky' it seems as though his sound is suddenly everywhere.
Invited to collaborate with a number of artists, the guitarist's choices - Chase & Status, anyone? - have raised eyebrows. However a new project with disco-house producer Tensnake feels like a much more natural fit.
Currently working on his new album, Tensnake has completed two tracks with Nile Rodgers. In what appears to be a glittering list of guest musicians, Warp producer Jamie Lidell is also set to take part in ongoing album sessions.
Speaking to Data Transmission, Tensnake said:
"The Nile collaboration was very organic, I just mailed him on Facebook. He replied about 10 minutes later, which I thought was amazing, and not what I’d expected at all! We then met up for dinner at WMC and he was such a nice humble guy that we began making plans to work together. Both tracks we worked on are naturally very disco, I love it!"
