Everyone has their own pick-me-up LP, right? Perhaps even a few: those albums that you can stick on and immediately feel elated. One relatively recent collection of such impression for me is Tall Ships' debut of 2012, ‘Everything Touching’. As recently as earlier this month I was tweeting about it:
There are people who've never been lifted up and hugged by the @tallshipsmusic album. Help these people. Buy them 'Everything Touching'.

I mean, really: this song. A big grin all over my ugly mug every time.
And this morning comes news – hooray! – of the Brighton-via-some-other-places foursome putting together a run of shows to preview a second studio set. They’re yet to get into the recording process, but those making their way to the gigs below can expect plenty of previously unheard material.
October
8th – Soup Kitchen, Manchester
9th – Christmas Steps, Bristol
10th – Old Blue Last, London
11th – Prince Albert, Brighton
Tickets are on sale from July 29th (tomorrow). You should go, and get some happy in you. Some people reckon Tall Ships are a bit like Battles, but Battles are well boring by comparison. Too jerky. Tall Ships are more suave. Go find them online, if you like.
