First names announced for event

Supergrass and Ash are among the first names that have been confirmed for this year's Truck festival.

Held at Hill Farm in Steventon, the two day Truck festival has grown into a genuine cult phenomenon. Together with its sister event Wood, the event combines a homely feel with a carefully selected bill to craft some summer magic.

This year has been made extra special with the addition of Supergrass. The Britpop survivors are still fighting fit, and recently parted ways with long term home Parlophone in order to gain more independence.

Currently working on a new album, Supergrass are an always entertaining live act with a truly stellar back catalogue of hits to draw on. Joining them as headliners are Northern Irish group Ash.

Forming in Belfast in the early 90s, Ash found success almost instantly despite their meagre years. The band were forced to turn down an American tour with Pearl Jam in order to sit their A Levels, while debut album '1977' was named in honour of the year the musicians were born in.

Now trimmed back down to a trio, Ash have a hefty arsenal of hit singles to stun festival goers. Joining them on the bill are hotly tipped newcomers such as Red Light Company, Detroit Social Club and Pulled Apart By Horses.

Scottish electro-indie allstars Errors are also due to perform, and will bring their frenetic Acid House meets Battles racket alongside fellow tartan bearers Broken Records.

With more acts still to be announced, this summer's instalment of Truck looks to be the best yet.

Truck Festival is due to take place between July 25th - 26th.
