Super Furry Animals

Welsh wonders Super Furry Animals have announced details of their new instrumental album, which is set to include the BBC Concert Orchestra.

The band have reportedly been working on the instrumental album for several years. The legendary band have become one of the leading groups in Welsh music, inspiring many other groups to tread their own path. Lead singer Gruff Rhys has released numerous albums under his own name, and recently completed the Neon Neon project.

Speaking with BBC 6Music, the Welsh band revealed that recent recording sessions had seen them working with an orchestra. Gruff Rhys said "we did a session with the BBC Concert Orchestra but with core members of it – six or seven musicians – helping to develop ideas that we can use and then adapt to a larger orchestra in future".

There is currently no release date for the Super Furry Animals album.
