Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis is optimistic about the addition of some good old sunshine to this year’s line-up, The Guardian has reported.
Organisers of the festival, this year headlined by The Verve, Kings of Leon and Jay-Z, are planning for good weather by booking up hosepipes, ice cream sellers and suncream and even dermatologists for the event.
A fleet of bowser tanks have also been booked to spray water on the fields to prevent excess dust at the event, set to run from June 27-29.
However, the newspaper also reported that a spokesperson for The Met Office stated that rain was "more likely to be either near, or above average" for the time of year.
His fine weather predictions could be an attempt to lure more people to this year's event which still has not sold out. Critics have blamed lagging ticket sales on the inclusion of hip hop artist Jay-Z in the list of headliners.
Welsh starlet Duffy has lent her support to Jay-z, speaking to the Glastonbury Festival website, the singer said she was looking forward to seeing Jay-Z more than any other artist performing at the bash.
"I genuinely think he's a great musician," she said. "It hadn't really crossed my mind that his appearance might be a problem. [I saw him] at the Royal Albert Hall in London and it was one of the best shows I've ever been to.”
