Suede Man Attacks Britpop Reunion

Butler not a fan, it seems

Award winning producer and former Suede axeman Bernard Butler has attacked Britpop reunions.

As one half of the creative partnership that drove Suede, the group completed two albums before Butler departed. Suede continued to chart glory, while Butler's career has seen him move from well regarded solo albums into the world of production.

At the inaugural 'UK Producers Guild Awards' Butler was named 'Producer Of The Year' for his work with Duffy, Black Kids and more. In a new interview Butler attacked the Britpop reunions claiming they are "embarrassing".

"There's an awful lot of Britpop reunions going on at the moment and I find it embarrassing personally. I think it's got no relevance to what's going on at the moment" he told the BBC.

"I know it's good fun and everything and sure, you can't deny someone a good night out but personally I just feel uncomfortable with nostalgia."

Butler confirmed Suede have no plans to reform. "I've never had an offer to do anything as Suede," he said. "I hate the idea of it. It doesn't work. And it doesn't interest with me at all."
