Strummerville has teamed up with Tech Music School London to launch a new scholarship scheme.
Times are tough. The UK might have escaped a triple dip recession, but jobs are scarce and opportunities - especially for young people - a few and far between. Which is why ClashMusic is glad to shine a light on a new project from Strummerville.
The music charity is set to partner Tech Music School London, offering a young musician the chance to study on the institutions BA (Hons) Creative Musicianship course.
The first in an exciting new scholarship programme offered by TMS London, the award is worth some £17,250 - covering in full three years of tuition fees.
Lucinda Garland Trustee of Strummerville was overjoyed to announce the partnership. "We are delighted about our partnership with Tech Music School London and thank them for giving this wonderful opportunity. We can't wait to see the first talented young person on The Strummerville Scholarship."
TMS London Principal Andrew Bates, meanwhile, was clearly delighted to confirm the news. "We are delighted to partner in such a worthwhile project and offer talented young musicians the chance to get qualified at a centre of excellence for music. We also recognise that the current financial climate is immensely challenging for many families and we have created this scholarship in order to support members of the next generation of music industry creatives who might otherwise not have been able to gain a BA (Hons)".
