Stormin has passed away following an illness.
The MC was a member of the all-star SASASAS crew, a team of hotshot DJs and MCs dedicated to pushing the boundaries in drum 'n' bass.
Respected across the UK underground and beyond, MC Stormin hooked up with those outside traditional drum 'n' bass circles, notably working with a slew of grime producers.
This was only in keeping with his roots, however – Stormin was a key member of N.A.S.T.Y. Crew, a formative force in grime's first wave, who also includes the likes of D Double, Footsie, and Jammer.
Recent project SASASAS kicked off with an impromptu show in 2014, but went on to enjoy international success, a stellar live act who could smash it in the studio.
All the while, though, Stormin kept up his solo work, seeking out new ideas and honing his own approach while battling illness.
Diagnosed with skin cancer in 2016, the MC was open about his fight – and remained a tower of strength throughout his struggles.
News of his passing broke this morning (February 19th) – here's just a small smattering of the tributes being made in his memory.

I’m so so glad I got to spend a few more hours sitting with Stormin and his wonderful family and friends before his passing.
I saw him perform, still just a boy, at Stratford EQ’s before Grime was even a genre nearly 20 years ago.
Now he’s gone.
Rest easy sir. A true legend.
