Squire Stops Roses Reformation

Guitarist concentrates on art

With the rumour mill running pouring out ever more outlandish stories John Squire's spokesman has confirmed that the guitarist has no plans to join a reformed Stone Roses.

Now twenty years since they released their iconic debut album, The Stone Roses' legacy still lingers. Setting the template for virtually every British indie band since, the group still sound timeless.

Sure, comeback album 'The Second Coming' had a few dodgy moments but its highs (hello 'Love Spreads', 'Tears') more than out-weighed its lows.

Rumours had been circulating that the band would reform for an anniversary tour. However Squire's spokesperson claimed that the guitarist has no musical plans and instead wants to focus on his art. A long time artist, it was the guitarist who crafted the Jackson Pollock inspired artwork for the band's releases.

"This is all John does really nowadays. The Stone Roses is very much a past life for him now. He has made a very good career out of painting," said the spokesperson.

John Squire is set to debut four exhibitions across the year.
