Springsteen Mime Rumours

Did band pre-record set?

Rumours are flying around America that Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band may have played to pre-recorded music at the Superbowl.

The American icon played a stunning set at the sporting event, broadcast to an audience of millions. The four song performance included songs from his new album and went down a storm in the stadium and with home viewers, but all may not have been as it seemed.

If rumours are to be believed, the only live element of the show was Springsteen's vocals, with the rest being recorded beforehand.

“The Super Bowl performances are all on tape,” producer of Super Bowl pre-game entertainment Hank Neuberger told the Chicago Tribune.

“There is no way you can set up a full band in five minutes with microphones, get all the settings right, and expect to get quality sound,” he said. “The Super Bowl has been doing that for years with virtually all the bands.”

Bruce Springsteen has yet to respond to the rumours.
