Springsteen Charity Raffle

Rare images to be given away

Bruce Springsteen is set to aid a charity close to his heart with the singer set to give away rare photos in a raffle.

Bruce Springsteen and New Jersey are intimately tied together. The singer grew up there, and despite his wealth still lives in the area. A community minded man, Springsteen opens his doors for a massive Halloween party every year, setting off a huge fireworks display for neighbours.

The Boss is set to aid the Community Foodbank in New Jersey, a project that helps those unable to afford a decent meal. From his debut album 'Greetings From Asbury NJ' onwards, Springsteen has always been concerned with the poor in America, and he has frequently worked with the foodbank in the past.

The new project will allow fans the chance to win an iconic shot of the songwriter signed by the photographer who captured the image. The images have been captured by some of the most renowned photographers in rock, who have worked with Springsteen on album covers such as 'Born to Run,' 'Born In The U.S.A.,' 'Darkness On The Edge Of Town' and 'The Rising'.

The raffle has already been a huge success, with fans only paying $25 to enter. Already, over 14,000 donations have been made with only 14 shots available. It might be a thousand to one chance, but it seems that Springsteen's fans are more than willing to help a good cause.

The contest begins today (April 23rd). To enter click HERE!

Bruce Springsteen himself isn't in New Jersey at the moment. The singer is touring the world with the E Street Band to promote recent album 'Working On A Dream' and is scheduled to play UK festival dates at Glastonbury and Hard Rock Calling.
