Specials Coventry Show Announced
Ska-Punk Legends Play Hometown
Reformed ska-punk legends The Specials have announced that they will finish next year's very special reunion tour with a spectacular show in their hometown of Coventry.
The band were formed in the Midlands city in the late 70s, and came to define the multicultural spirit of young Britain in the late 70s and early 80s. The group's two albums were massive chart hits and their label 2-Tone spawned millions of followers, with fellow ska groups such as Madness and The Beat dominating the charts.
The Specials announced their reformation earlier this year, controversially without founding member Jerry Dammers. A series of statements have been issued by both parties, but it seems the row is no closer to being resolved.
The Specials have announced a new Coventry date, in addition to their already announced UK tour. The band will play the city's Ricoh Arena on May 15th.
