Specials Announce UK Tour
Two Tone Legends Return
Ska legends The Specials have delighted fans across the world with the news that they are to reform for a series of live dates across the UK in 2009, it has been announced.
The Specials grew from a gang of disaffected punks, fired up by the energy of the movement but eager to do something new. Lead by Jerry Dammers, the Midlands group rapidly grew into a seven piece and became one of the most talked about band's in the UK.
Forming the 2-Tone label, the band attracted likeminded souls from across the nation, becoming a genuine pop craze in the process. Beginning with debut single 'Gangsters' the group lit up the charts scoring two UK number one singles in the process - including the era defining 'Ghost Town'.
A stunning image of multi-cultural Britain at a time when the Far Right were mobilized on the nation's streets, The Specials remain one of the most respected and iconic British groups.
