Sound Of 2009 Revealed
BBC Poll Unveiled
As the year draws to a close some of us are already looking to predict the trends for 2009 - with the annual BBC poll 'Sound Of 2009' revealing who industry insiders think will be big in the coming year.
Previous winners of the poll include Adele, Mika, Keane and Corinne Bailey Rae with the list usually indicating who will be big in the coming year. More than 130 industry professionals take part, making it one of the most authoritative lists of its type.
The new list is not ordered. Running to fifteen up and coming acts, it is the shortlist from which the full, official run down will be taken. A varied list, electro vixen Little Boots rubs shoulders with folk types Mumford And Sons. Florence And The Machine also make the list - could they be The Ting Tings of 2009? Only time will tell.
The full list reads as follows:
- The Big Pink
- Frankmusik
- Master Shortie
- Dan Black
- Kid Cudi
- Mumford & Sons
- VV Brown
- La Roux
- Passion Pit
- Empire Of The Sun
- Lady Gaga
- The Temper Trap
- Florence And The Machine
- Little Boots
- White Lies
