Soul Savers All Star Cast

Jason Pierce, Mike Patton for album

British production duo Soul Savers have assembled a stunning all star cast for their forthcoming third album.

Formed by Rich Machin and Ian Glover, Soul Savers clearly have an eye for talent. The British musicians are joined by Mark Lanegan on the forthcoming record, which sees Lanegan take over main vocal duties as well as co-writing most of the material.

Mark Lanegan, of course, is no stranger to collaboration. The one time Screaming Trees main man worked with fellow American rock great Greg Dulli on The Gutter Twins, while Lanegan has also crafted two acclaimed albums with Scottish songwriter Isobel Campbell.

Taking lead vocals on the new Soul Savers album, the American alt rock legend is due to be joined by a pantheon of music greats. Spiritualized singer Jason Pierce is gearing up to re-visit his classic album 'Ladies And Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space' but has managed to find time to duet with Lanegan on 'Pharoah's Chariot'.

Sheffield singer Richard Hawley is due to appear on the album, lending his dulcet croon to the track 'Shadows Fall'.

Mike Patton is also due to appear on the album, fresh from reforming metal giants Faith No More. The singer joined the San Francisco group in the late 80s, writing the smash hit album 'The Real Thing'.

A decade of success followed before Faith No More called it a day in 1998, with Patton going on to form a myriad of side projects. The rock hero seems keen to have one final fling before re-entering the group fold with Faith No More, and will appear on the track 'Unbalanced Pieces'.

Soul Savers have managed to attract a host of other singers, including Butthole Surfers legend Gibby Haynes. Famed for their onstage depravity and intense, challenging music Butthole Surfers are still going strong after more than two decades.

The new album is due to be preceded by a seven inch single. Titled 'Sunrise' the gentle track unites Mark Lanegan with Will Oldham, one of the world's finest purveyors of dark and dense Americana.

A very special B-side features Mark Lanegan performing a version of the Will Oldham song 'You Will Miss Me When I Burn'.

In a statement Rich Machin said "I didn't want to be in an electronic band. Or a rock'n'roll band. I wanted the freedom to explore."

"I love all kinds of music, which allows me to open all these doors. There's nothing better than bringing in great people who inspire, to keep you on top of your game, and to keep things fresh. That's the nature of what we've set up here."

Soul Savers are set to release their new album 'Broken' in August.
