Soft Pack EP Details

New Yorkers set for vinyl only release

Rowdy New York types The Soft Pack are set to release a new vinyl only EP 'Extinction' on May 11th.

The Soft Pack burst through to the public's attention last year after a stunning set at the annual music conference CMJ. Originally known as The Muslims, the band perhaps wisely changed their name to avoid offending some of the more sensitive members of the religious community.

Live, the band are a whirlwind of guitars and heart felt vocals. Throwing themselves around the stage in a rare show of carefree abandon, The Soft Pack recently blew minds (and ear drums) at a Clash Live event in London.

The fast rising group have received much praise recently and have been confirmed as tour support on the upcoming Franz Ferdinand tour. The Scottish indie gentry know a thing or two about picking rising talent, with lead singer Alex Kapranos having been a vocal supporter of Bloc Party early in their career.

The new EP gathers material collated from the band's career to date. 'Extinction' contains six tracks, all of which have been previously released but are difficult to find. With limited edition singles already going for high prices on the internet, this is a great opportunity for fans to complete their collection.

The Soft Pack are due to release their new EP 'Extinction' on May 11th. Tracklisting is as follows:

'Extinction'
'Future Rock'
'Beside Myself'
'On My Time'
'Right and Wrong'
'Call It A Day'
