Snoop Dogg is set to be transformed into Snoopzilla for his new funk-influenced project.
Snoop Dogg, it seems, just can't sit still. Last year the rapper unveiled his new persona, recording a Rastafarian influenced, reggae infused album under the name Snoop Lion.
Well, now the D.O.G.G. Pound legend is set to return to his roots. Teaming up with Dam Funk, Snoop Dogg intends to re-invent himself as Snoopzilla on a new album influenced by George Clinton.
Working as the band name 7 Days Of Funk, the name Snoopzilla is a homage of sorts to Bootsy Collins - who labelled himself Bootzilla.
7 Days Of Funk will release their self-titled album through Stones Throw on December 10th, with Snoop(zilla) commenting: "We're the babies of the Mothership. I've had funk influences in my music my whole career. Dâm-Funk is cold. He's keeping the funk alive and I knew I had to get down with him."
