Slash To Record Led Zep Cover

With Simon Cowell girl group?

Rumours have emerged that iconic Guns N Roses axeman Slash could be set to record a very special cover version of Led Zeppelin's 'Kashmir'.

Slash was a founder member of rock gods Guns N Roses, and his fretwork ignites the group's debut album 'Appetite For Destruction'. Sadly, Slash and lead singer Axl Rose developed irreconcilable differences and was later to leave the band.

Guns N Roses released their first post-Slash album of original material last year - more than a decade after he left the band.

Now working with Velvet Revolver, Slash could be about to pay tribute to one of the founding fathers of modern rock music. The guitarist has been lined up to appear on an unusual version of 'Kashmir' by Led Zeppelin.

The recording would feature Slash working with the classical quartet Escala. The pair have been brought together by Simon Cowell, who reportedly met the guitarist at a party. What a bash that would have been!

“He was looking for someone unexpected to work with the girls and asked if he’d be interested,” a source told the Sun newspaper.

“He really liked the idea and jumped at the chance.”

The recording process has apparently gone well, with the track reportedly set for release in May.
