Slash Jams With Dave Grohl

Superstar team up revealed

One time Guns N Roses axeman Slash has revealed that he has been writing material with Dave Grohl and Duff McKagan.

Slash is one of the defining guitarists in rock music. Forget about 'Guitar Hero' they might as well re-name the thing 'Pretend To Be Slash' given his iconic status in amongst fans of wailing six strings.

Departing Guns N Roses in 1993 the guitarist has had a chequered solo career. Forming Velvet Revolver with other ejected members of Guns N Roses the group shuddered to a halt last year.

Singer Scott Weiland left the band, with both parties issuing contradictory statements. Since then Slash has occupied himself by giving ever entertaining anecdotes about his time in Guns N Roses, while continuing work on his forthcoming solo album.

Due to be titled 'Slash & Friends' the album is set to be released next year and does exactly what it says on the tin. Slash orchestrates proceedings with guest stars due to include a mouth watering array of rock legends.

Iggy Pop, Nick Oliveri, Ronnie Wood, Flea, Jason Bonham, Fergie and Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine are amongst those lined up to perform. Now it seems that Dave Grohl and Duff McKagan can be added to that list.

In an update on his Twitter page the guitarist writes: "Great jamming w/Duff & Grohl tonight, the track is a killer instrumental, very heavy".

Other revealing nuggets on the site include: "Oct 2nd at the Mirage is turning into quite the event. A lot of people jamming, details to follow."

However as per usual on Twitter, the most entertaining Tweets are the ones with least substance. In addition to wondering "Whatever happened to the guy who played "Marvin" in Pulp Fiction?" Slash also states "You have to give it up for women, they go through a lot to be them."

'Slash & Friends' is due to be released next year.
