Slash Covers Guns N Roses

Epic rock guitar icon Slash has covered an old Guns N Roses classic for his new single.

Slash is one of the most iconic guitar players of all time. With his skin tight leather trousers, enormous boots and tumbling curls he set the bar for all future bearers of the six string, combining ferocious rock riffs with latin rhythms.

Solo since 1993, the guitarist has always distanced himself from Guns N Roses. Whereas some fans have linked him with a return to the group he helped guide to rock babylon Slash has always maintained a fierce guard over his solo career.

Now the guitarist has decided to cover Guns N Roses classic single 'Paradise City'. Due to be released in Japan, Slash has outraged fans of his former employers by using Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie as a vocalist.

However writing on his Twitter account the guitarist claimed that the R&B star was a capable substitute for Axl Rose.

"Until now, not too many people have heard Fergie sing rock & roll but she sings it better than most dudes I know. She's a screamer at heart."

Elsewhere, Slash revealed that his forthcoming solo album 'Slash & Friends' is almost complete. Containing an all star cast, it is not certain if the Fergie track will appear although the album is close to finishing.

"The sequence is done, the artwork is coming together, the clearances are coming thru, it's all good" the star wrote.

The guitarist is also set to jam with fellow Guns N Roses exile Steve Adler at a forthcoming charity concert.

Slash is due to release 'Slash & Friends' next year.
