Icelandic post-rock superstars Sigur Ros are set to storm the UK singles charts when "Inni mer syngur vitleysingur" is released on September 8th.
The band are currently busy surfing a wave of critical adulation after the reception afforded to last year's "Heima" documentary and this year's album "Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust" (or in English "With a buzz in our ears we play endlessly").
The new single is by far the most linear and commercial single the band have released to date. Best known for crashing post-rock epics with ethereal vocals, the new single is a stomping, piano driven (dare we say it) pop song. Translating into English as "Within me a lunatic sings", the single is one of the stand out tracks from the new album.
"Inni mer syngur vitleysingur" is set to be released on September 8th.
Sigur Ros will play the following UK dates:
November 4th - Wolverhampton, Civic
November 5th - Blackpool, Empress Ballroom
November 7th - Bristol, Colston Hall
November 20th - London, Alexandra Palace
November 21st - London, Alexandra Palace
