Sigur Ros Cast In 'Game Of Thrones'

But what will they appear as?
Sigur Ros

Sigur Ros have been cast in a forthcoming episode of 'Game Of Thrones'.

The insidious impact Sigur Ros have had on Hollywood remains remarkable. The band's music appeared in Tom Cruise vehicle 'Vanilla Sky' and since then the Icelandic group have enjoyed a high profile amongst film makers.

Recently appearing in The Simpsons, the band have reportedly agreed an appearance on 'Game Of Thrones'.

The cult show would, on the surface, seem like the perfect fit for Sigur Ros. Featuring plenty of swashbuckling antics, it's glorious landscapes are the perfect foil for the band's gloriously beautiful music.

Entertainment Weekly broke the news, and point out that the show's creators David Benioff and Dan Weiss would frequently listen to the band's music whilst onset.

Of course, Sigur Ros are far from the first musicians to make a guest appearance on 'Game Of Thrones'. The National and The Hold Steady have both constructed music based on the George R.R. Martin source books, while Snow Patrol and Coldplay have also dropped by.

Shooting on the new series of 'Games Of Thrones' will commence shortly, with the season set to launch on HBO early next year.
