'Le Don & Scor-Zay-Zee' set for release

A new film directed by Shane Meadows and starring Arctic Monkeys is set for general release on October 9th.

Tough, melodic and deeply Northern. Shane Meadows and Arctic Monkeys have a lot in common, with the two talents set to cross on the forthcoming film 'Le Donk & Scor-Zay-Zee' set for release in October.

Shane Meadows is one of the most acclaimed film-makers in Britain. Previous film such as 'This Is England' have dwelt on life in Northern England during the 80s, combining gritty realism with a human heart.

Returning later this year, Shane Meadows' new film 'Le Donk & Scor-Zay-Zee' is a departure for the director. A mockumentary, the movie follows a young roadie who is attempting to get a white rapper a support slot at an Arctic Monkeys gig.

The real life story of Skint & Demoralised? The film is due to star the band themselves, and marks the first time that Arctic Monkeys and Shane Meadows have teamed up.

'Le Donk & Scor-Zay-Zee' stars award winning actor Paddy Considine who has worked with Meadows before on the tense psychological drama 'Dead Man's Shoes'. Considine is also no stranger to music films, having starred as New Order manager Rob Gretton in the film '24 Hour Party People'.

Considine has also worked with Arctic Monkeys before, starring in the video for the 2006 single 'Leave Before The Lights Come On'.

Premiered at the Edinburgh International Film Festival 'Le Donk & Scor-Zay-Zee' is due to be released on October 9th, with a DVD release confirmed for October 26th.
