Spoken word artist Scroobius Pip has decided to shave off his beard and sell it on eBay.

Moses... Abraham Lincoln... Scroobius Pip. What do these three people have in common? Yep, that's right: a luxurious layer of facial hair.

The British spoken word artist is synonymous with his beard, which flashes around onstage as he energetically reads out his latest work. Recently completing a solo album, the rapper has obviously tired of getting his beard trapped in awkward places and has decided to go clean-shaven.

Shaving off his beard, Scroobius Pip has placed the resulting hairs on eBay. Filming the process, the rapper has used the footage as the basis for the video accompanying his latest single.

Writing a message to fans, Scroobius Pip said:

"Afternoon!
I'm not going to mess around... the title says it all.
I have just put my beard up for sale on eBay!
I cut it off in the video for Introdiction then promptly bagged and tagged it.
You can bid here...

No profit will be going to charity.
I will be spending all profit on cake.
And on old 80's toys off eBay.
Mainly Ware Bears.
