Santogold For Electric Proms

Brooklyn world pop star Santogold has been added to the line up for this year's BBC Electric Proms event, following on from her stunning show at last year's event.

Real name Santi White, Santogold has lit up the music scene with her pop-tastic blend of new wave and dance styles, as well as her outlandish outfits. Her self-titled debut album was one of the year's bright spots, representing the stunning emergence of a unique talent.

The singer will play this year's BBC Electric Proms, featuring as support to Brummie poet The Streets. Last year Santogold played alongside producer de jour Mark Ronson, but this time round she will settle for a DJ and her team of dancers.

Over 60 acts will feature at this year's Electric Prom events, including musical legend Burt Bacharach, Goldfrapp and Razorlight. An alternative to the established classical music event, the Electric Proms takes place in a variety of venues across London and - for the first time - Liverpool.
