Sam Forrest of Manchester grunge-pop outfit Nine Black Alps will play a series of solo shows with fellow UK songwriter Hayley Hutchinson throughout October.
The Nine Black Alps singer will release a solo album soon, which is set to see him expanding his acoustic leanings, which often appear on The Alps' albums. Forrest has been compared to US singer-songwriter Elliot Smith in the past, due to songs like 'Behind Your Eyes' from debut 'Everything Is' and 'String Me Along' from the Glitter Gulch EP.Hutchinson, who makes up the other half of the duo, also released an album earlier this year, a collection of folk songs titled 'Love Songs For The Enemy'.
The shows will see the duo air their own music, as well as tracks form their joint project The Sorry Kisses, who recently released 100-only copies of their debut 'Hard Drive', although the record will be released later this year.
