Rumble Strips Add To Tour

More dates from horn fans

Brass laden indie types The Rumble Strips have added several more dates to their forthcoming UK tour.

The Rumble Strips are one of the indie scene's most unusual groups. Part fey rockers, part horn toting soul revue the band are led by Charlie Waller whose operatic wail brings to mind Freddie Mercury and Kevin Rowland.

An early single with Transgressive saw the band snapped up by a major label, with debut album 'Girls And Weather' soon following. Packed to the gills with pop potential, singles such as 'Girls And Boys In Love' strangely failed to set the charts alight.

Why? Well ClashMusic is lost for words. With plenty of melodic bite and wonderful lyrics The Rumble Strips seem to be the perfect package. Roping in Mark Ronson - himself a fan of retro soul moves - the group's second album should see them intrude upon the charts.

Titled 'Welcome To The Walkalone' the group's forthcoming album is a wonderful blend of soul and indie, with Charlie Waller on typically pipe bursting form. Inspirational listening, it will hopefully find a much wider audience than the band's debut album.
