Royksopp Single News

Robyn collaboration due

Chilled out Norwegian duo Royksopp are due to release their new single 'The Girl And The Robot' on May 25th.

Formed by Svein Berge and Torbjørn Brundtland, Royksopp are one of the most acclaimed and best selling dance acts to have emerged from Norway. Debut album 'Melody AM' sneaked out in 2001 on the Wall Of Sound imprint, and was an immediate hit.

Laid back tracks such as the popular single 'Poor Leno' helped the band gain the attention of the public, alongside their distinctive and ward winning take on music videos.

Unusually, Royksopp released a live album in 2006. 'Royksopp's Night Out' was a rare example of a dance act who work as a live group, and the album is favourite with fans containing a cheeky version of the song “Go with the Flow”, originally by Queens of the Stone Age.

The group recently released their third album 'Junior' which was a hit with fans and critics alike. The record has already spawned the hit single 'Happy Up Here', but the new collaboration with Robyn looks set to surpass even that song's success.

'The Girl And The Robot' will come backed by remixes from the likes of Kris Menace, Chateau Marmont and Spencer & Hill. Fellow Scandinavian Robyn's sultry vocals take Royksopp's chilled electronica into new directions, adding a poppy feminine elements to their icy synths.

Royksopp are set to visit the UK soon for an extremely busy festival schedule. The group will appear at Ether Festival, in London's Royal Festival Hall and have also been confirmed as headliners for Get Loaded In The Park, with more appearances to be confirmed.
