Royksopp Remix Competition

'Tricky Tricky' to be new single

Chilled out Norwegian duo Royksopp are set to start a new remix competition for their new single 'Tricky Tricky'.

Emerging from Norway, Royksopp released their debut album 'Melody A.M.' back in 2001. When the dance world was awash with funky house and face melting techno these two Scandinavian producers offered something laidback and melodic.

A global hit, the album was followed by the hit single 'Poor Leno'. Returning four years later with 'The Understanding' the duo enhanced their reputation with another collection of stunning chilled grooves.

Dependable as ever, Royksopp are due to return with their latest album 'Junior / Senior' this year. Showing Torbjørn Brundtland and Svein Berge to be on top form, the record has already been hailed by critics.

The duo are set to make a very special appearance at Get Loaded In The Park on August 30th, with Royksopp due to unleash their hits before the Clapham Common crowd. However after this the group are set to launch a special competition.

Taken from their new album, 'Tricky Tricky' is a six minute operatic tour de force feature the vocals of Karin Dreijer Andersson. One of the stand out tracks on the duo's recent album, Royksopp have offered fans the chance to remix the song.

Judging the entrants themselves, the winner will be released commercially. To grab the all important stems, just visit HERE!

Svein from the band says, "This is yet another shabby attempt at giving something back to our fans - or rather get our fans involved in our shabby doings... Yes, this is an invitation to all of you dedicated souls out there who want to take part in the Röyksopp legacy!"

"We feel that track "Tricky Tricky" has so much potential, it deserves a life outside the album. Not only is this a chance at beating us at our own game, you also get to mess around with Karin Deijer-Anderssons extraordinay vocals! Now, how about that? For those about to remix - we salute you!"

As well as being released the winning entries also receive a Samsung Beat Phone and an Ableton Live LE.

The city was a vital scene

The city was a vital scene for underground electronic music at this time, and the band worked with other Norwegian musicians such as Frost, Kings of Convenience’s guitarist/singer Erlend Øye, Those Norwegians and Drum Island in what was called the Bergen Wave.
