Roots For Talk Show Slot

Legendary hip hop group The Roots are set to appear on talk show host Jimmy Fallon's new late night show as the house band, it has been reported.

The Roots have been busy of late, appearing as support on Kanye West's European tour. The band are renowned for the technical chops - they refuse to use samplers and instead recreate all samples live onstage. The tour was a success, apart from a serious bus crash on the outskirts of Paris.

The band also announced that they would cease touring, leading to speculation they would be unveiled as the house band when Jimmy Fallon takes over the 'Late Night' slot on American TV vacated by Conon O'Brien.

In a new video blog, Fallon takes fans on a tour of the set and announces the The Roots will be the house band. It is not yet known when the series will start.
