60s girl group icon Ronnie Spector is set to play a very special Scottish date at The Arches, Glasgow on September 29th, it has been announced.
Ronnie Spector hasn't played a Scottish date in over 15 years, and this appearance will something worth cherishing. A former Ronette, Ronnie Spector was married to infamous producer Phil, and her autobiography concerning her life with the maverick sound sculptor is eye-opening to say the least.
Ronnie survived that marriage, and her resilience lead her back into the music industry. Recently, Ronnie Spector recorded an album with an all star cast titled "The Last Of The Rock Stars". Featuring Keith Richards, Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Nick Zinner, Patti Smith and members of The Raconteurs, the album was a wonderful tribute to Ronnie's talent by many generations of rock musicians.
The voice behind such era defining classics as "Be My Baby", this looks like a once in a lifetime chance to witness one of the early female pioneers of rock and pop. A gig will no doubt be something to cherish for years to come.
